The mysterious model may slot beneath the Explorer
Spy photographers have snapped a mysterious new crossover near Ford's Dearborn Development Center. There isn't much to see in the rear, but the crossover has a liftgate-mounted spoiler and a single exhaust tip. The model also sports temporary taillights and an angular rear window. It's hard to judge the model's size based on the photos, but the crossover is expected to be smaller than the Explorer. Spy photographers believe it could be the reborn Fusion / Mondeo with a crossover body designed to appeal to Americans. Spy photographers went on to note similarities to the Chinese Evos, but Ford has been adamant that model "Is for customers in China only." Of course, there's nothing stopping the automaker from changing the body and slapping a new name on it. That being said, only one thing is certain at this point, and that is Ford is working on a new crossover.
