Nicholas Teo's role in variety show leaves fans guessing

SPECULATION that Malaysian singer Nicholas Teo will be appearing on the variety show Promise of the Stars is likely to be true after he inadvertently revealed that he is in China, reported Sin Chew Daily. Teo, from Sarawak, shared a photo of his hotel room in Guangdong, China. Fans were excited about Teo's reunion with one of the show's main singers, Cyndi Wang, with whom he starred together in the 2006 Taiwanese idol drama Smiling Pasta. Speculation of Teo joining the lineup of Promise of the Stars, a show which will feature celebrities going on a road trip together, started after showrunners teased that it would feature someone known as the "Prince of Idol Dramas", a moniker Teo once held. Many fans were disappointed after they noticed that the singer was in Malaysia despite the show being scheduled to air on Sept 16. Teo's latest social media post was a confirmation to many fans that he would be on the show, which will feature other celebrities including Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Wu Jinyan, and Xiaolei Huang. A video of the gift that went viral online showed several bags of coins being poured into a red pail at a wedding reception.
