MORE FOR YOU. Due to Cambodia's withdrawal, Group C became a two-team affair between North Korea and Singapore. Japan put out a statement in Group D as they won all three of their matches by scoring 23 goals without response, ending Vietnam, Nepal and Bangladesh's campaigns in the process. Vietnam did win both of their other matches, but due to the convoluted nature of the groups, they were not in the top three of the best runners-up classification. South Korea won Group E comfortably ahead of the Philippines, whose win over Myanmar saw them advance to the knockouts while Hong Kong were sent packing without a win. The headline match of the quarterfinals-and perhaps the whole tournament-was South Korea vs North Korea, dubbed by many as the Korean derby. North Korea put out a statement of intent in the other semifinal, thrashing Uzbekistan 8-0 to continue their title defense by reaching yet another final. Uzbekistan should be quite proud of finishing fourth, while China might have some disappointment for failing to win Gold at home.
